20 Tips to Prepare for your Boudoir Session
Preparing for a boudoir session can be exciting and nerve-wracking at the same time. You may be wondering what to wear, how to pose, or how to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident in front of the camera. But don't worry, we're here to help! Here are 20 tips to prepare for your boudoir session:
Do your research: Take some time to browse through our portfolio and social media pages to get a feel for the style of our photography and the types of poses and outfits that we typically shoot.
Communicate with your photographer: Let us know if you have any specific ideas, preferences, or concerns. We're here to help you feel comfortable and confident throughout the session.
Book in advance: Don't wait until the last minute to schedule your session. Plan ahead to ensure that you can get the date and time that works best for you.
Get a good night's sleep: Being well-rested can make a big difference in how you feel and look on camera.
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session to ensure that your skin looks healthy and glowing.
Moisturize: Apply lotion to your body the night before and the morning of your session to ensure that your skin looks smooth and soft.
Choose your outfits carefully: Select outfits that you feel comfortable and confident in, and that flatter your body type. You could include a variety of options, such as lingerie, robes, or even a sweater or blouse.
Accessorize: Bring along jewelry, heels, or other accessories that complement your outfits and add some extra glamour to your photos. If this isn’t your style, that’s okay, too!
Get a mani-pedi: Don't forget about your hands and feet! A fresh coat of polish can make a big difference in how polished and put-together you look.
Avoid sunburns and spray tans: It's best to avoid sunburns and spray tans before your session, as they can make your skin look patchy or uneven in photographs.
Wax or shave: If you prefer to remove body hair, make sure to do so a few days before your session to avoid any redness or irritation.
Pack a bag: Bring along a thong to wear under our client closet pieces, any accessories you want to wear, and maybe your favorite perfume, because let’s face it, when we smell good, we feel good!
Eat a light meal: Don't arrive on an empty stomach, but also avoid eating a heavy meal before your session. Stick to something light and nutritious.
Avoid alcohol: It may be tempting to have a glass of wine to calm your nerves, but alcohol can actually make you look and feel more bloated on camera.
Wear loose-fitting clothes: Opt for loose, comfortable clothing on the day of your session to avoid any unwanted marks or lines on your skin.
Stretch: We are going to pose you in ways that may not feel super natural. You’ll want to make sure your muscles are a bit loose, so start stretching at least 2 weeks before your session.
Relax and have fun: Remember, this is supposed to be a fun and empowering experience! Try to relax and enjoy the moment.
Trust your photographer: We're here to guide you and help you look and feel your best. Trust in our expertise and enjoy the experience.
Be open-minded: Don't be afraid to try new poses or outfits, or to step outside of your comfort zone. You may be surprised by how much you enjoy it!
Celebrate your confidence: After your session, take some time to celebrate your confidence and embrace your inner goddess. You deserve it!
